Memorable Because: There’s been lots of debate this month about who will carry Nirvana’s torch 20 years after Kurt Cobain’s passing … Can we throw Ty Segall into the mix? Same influences, and just as impossible to tell when he’s joking around and when he isn’t. Segall’s sly sardonic pop sensibilities didn’t translate to stage on this day. Instead, L.A.’s new resident and his knucklehead stooges treated sweating fans to a destructive set of garage goof-offs best described as cilia genocide. I dig it, dude.
