The lineup for our seriously conflicted Thursday:

Cold War Kids, with two releases out this year (the album “Dear Miss Lonelyhearts” and the new digital EP “Tuxedos”) visit the Wiltern Theatre on a night that features PAPA and the return to L.A. of We Barbarians.
‣ Canadian indie-poppers Stars headline the El Rey Theatre, supported by Trails & Ways. Stars’ most recent album “The North” came out last year, and they recently released a new single.
The Julie Ruin, the latest project from riot grrl Kathleen Hanna (Bikini Kill, Le Tigre) and friends, released a new album “Run Fast” this month. They rock the Echoplex, supported by La Sera. Above, the video for “Oh Come On.”
‣ Ambient music pioneers the Orb, celebrating 25 years, headline the Fonda Theatre, supported by Nostalghia.
‣ Rabble-rousing rockers FIDLAR and the Orwells team up for a show at the Observatory in O.C.
‣ Texas rockers Midlake, with a new album “Antiphon” on the way in November, play the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
‣ A benefit for CASA of LA at the Satellite features Brian Aubert and Nikki Monninger of Silversun Pickups, Alex Brown Church of Sea Wolf and Patrick Park, along with DJ Hrishikesh Hirway (the One Am Radio).
Broken Anchor celebrates the its debut album “Fresh Lemonade” with a show at El Cid, supported by the Long Fall and Javier Dunn.
