‣ It’s another Friday night of free music at the FIGat7th Downtown Festival, where Brooklyn’s Red Baraat brings the melting-pot music on its latest album “Big Talk” and L.A.’s La Chamba supports.
Passenger, the nom de tune of U.K.-bred folk-pop troubadour Mike Rosenberg, headlines the El Rey Theatre, with Stu Larsen supporting. That’s the video for his mega-single “Let Her Go,” above.
Pink Martini does the first of three nights with the L.A. Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl; Pink Martini’s new album “Get Happy” is coming Sept. 24 and features guest vocals from Phyllis Diller, Philippe Katerine, Meow Meow, Ari Shapiro, The von Trapps and Rufus Wainwright.
‣ Robert Randolph & the Family Band headlines the House of Blues behind “Lickety Split,” Randolph’s first new album in three years.
‣ At the Levitt Pavilion MacArthur Park, it’s the vintage stylings of Dustbowl Revival at a free show under the stars.
Spaceships [see our post on “Ghost”] celebrates the release of their album “Cool Breeze Over the Mountains” with a show at the Smell, supported by Snow Wite, Shark Toys and Palm Reader.
‣ And White Arrows do the second of two evenings at the Bootleg Bar, supported by NO and Bad Suns.
