Thursday’s shows, with two very big and very worthy charity events happening on the same night (somebody needs to coordinate these things, right?):

Stones Fest LA salutes the music of that little band that recently played the Echoplex. The benefit for the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, tonight at the Fonda Theatre, will feature the likes of Butch Walker, Cyle Barnes of the Weeks, Juliette Lewis, Jason Sudeikis, Will Forte, Michelle Branch, Emily Armstrong of Dead Sara, Ethan Miller, Danny Masterson & Adam Busch, Matt Sorum & Ace Harper, Ewan Currie of the Sheepdogs, Ruby Amanfu, nembers of Eagles Of Death Metal, Jamie Arentzen of American Hi-Fi, Michael Peña, Josh Lattanzi of the Candles, Soko, Dakota Johnson & Ruby Stewart and others, including some surprise guests.
The MusiCares MAP Fund Benefit Concert, which pays tribute to Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington and skater-surfer-musician Tony Alva, brings Stone Temple Pilots, Slash, Duff McKagan and Ida Maria to Club Nokia. The show, which will feture a special performance from Bennington, benefits MusiCares’ Addiction Recovery Services, so the show will be alcohol-free.
United Ghosts, whose self-titled debut (which came out in March) ranks as one of those great under-the-radar releases that should not be under your radar, winds up its residency at the Silverlake Lounge, supported by Seven Saturdays, Nightmare Air and Nightmail.
‣ At the Echo, and fresh from playing Sasquatch!, it’s Suuns, supported by Magic Wands and Hepa-Titus.
‣ Ditto Barcelona’s John Talabot, who plays the Echoplex along with Lemonade.
‣ And Australian psych-rockers Tame Impala return to play the Fox Theater in Pomona, where they are joined by Jonathan Wilson.
