Getting the new year off to a good start:

‣ Michael Davis With Lions, whose EP was one of our favorites of 2012, celebrates the release of his full-length, “Real Love,” with a free show at the Echo. Soviet Red and Merry Christmas support.
‣ The Sister Ruby Band, hard at work on the follow-up to 2011’s “In Cold Blood” album, plays the Silverlake Lounge along with L.A. Witch, Son of the Velvet Rat and the Hallucinations. That’s the Sister Ruby Band’s video for “Oh Mercy,” above.
‣ And guitar wiz Eric McFadden kicks off a Wednesday night residency at the Mint; expect some stellar guests to drop in over the course of his five-week stint.
