If you’re seeing the Biebs or Aerosmith tonight, you could be on the wrong blog:

‣ Montreal’s Islands are doing a Hurricane Sandy benefit (proceeds to the World Cares Center and the Rockaway Action Center, $20 at the door) at the Virgil. Comedy guests include Tim Heidecker, Rob Delaney and more.
The Henry Clay People’s residency – which benefits the Songs for Kids Foundation – will be recorded live all month. Helping them kick it off tonight are So Many Wizards, Steelwells and Future Ghost.
‣ Opening night of the Dead Ships‘ residency at the Echo has a formidable lineup too, including Manhattan Murder Mystery, Wake Up Lucid and LA Font. That’s Manhattan Murder Mystery’s video for “Honda Prius,” above; good thing we didn’t go car-shopping with them.
Handshakes kicks off their Silverlake Lounge residency, supported by Blacks&, Warships and some newbies featuring Ben Einziger (of Agent Sparks), the Vapes.
‣ On the pop tip, L.A.-via-Oakland singer Jhameel has the residency at the Bootleg Bar. Supporting are the New Limb and We Are/She Is.
Meg Myers heads up a great lineup at the Viper Room; also on board are Diamonds Under Fire, Ryan Darton & the Wildebeast.
Oren Lyons, the fast-rising ensemble that melds orchestral rock and R&B, plays It’s a School Night at Bardot, along with Alexz Johnson and TeamMate. [Please revisit “Forever Found,” if you don’t already have it.]
‣ And visiting from Cajun country, Lost Bayou Ramblers – who had Scarlett Johansson, Dr. John and the Violent Femmes’ Gordon Gano as guests on their new record “Mammoth Waltz,” headline the Mint.
