Happy Friday:

‣ French funk-rocker Mathieu Chedid, also known as just -M-, plays the El Rey Theatre as part of the OohLaLA Festival this weekend. That’s his bizarre video for “MOJO” above.
‣ Punk singer-songwriter icon Patti Smith stops by the Wiltern in support of her new album “Banga,” her first album of new music since 2004.
The xx play their first of two L.A. shows this weekend. Tonight, they take on the Hollywood Palladium with John Talabot and 2:54 as support.
‣ Brazilian electronic artist and virtuoso sound designer Amon Tobin will bring his beats and his extravagant visual show to the Greek Theatre. Holy Other opens.
‣ Dance-punk Gossip headlines the Fonda Theater where they will be joined by Portland’s Magic Mouth.
‣ The Bootleg offers a solid hip hop lineup featuring Busdriver, NoCanDo and Open Mike Eagle.
Ezra Furman & His Band, the Peach Kings and Krill all team up at the Satellite.
‣ And the Hotel Cafe has another robust lineup with Bell X1 & Duke Special, Goodnight Texas, Oak & Gorski, Liz Wood and Folk Riot.
