Download: Lissy Trullie, ‘Madeleine’

It’s been a long wait for Lissy Trullie’s full-length debut. Her EP “Self-Taught Learner” was released just in time for her to be grouped in to the batch of notable females linked to fashion such as Little Boots, Ladyhawke and La Roux’s Elly Jackson in 2009. But unlike the other three, Trullie will be the first one to come back in full force. Her self-titled album produced by John Hill (Santigold, M.I.A., Shakira) and Dave Sitek (of TV on the Radio) is slated for a March. 6 release via Downtown Records (the same people who re-released her EP with a batch of new songs like the catchy ‘Don’t To Do”), and based on “Madeleine,” it sounds like Trullie has matured a great deal in just the last two years. Backed by her band, who also go by the name of Lissy Trullie, the model-turned-musician abandons the heavy ’80s pop-rock  influences for a much more melodious approach where haste is not required for hooks.
